Children’s Ministry

We Care for Your Kids

Our Mission at FBC Douglas is to Love God, Love Others and Make Disciples. The goal of our children’s ministry is to plant this mission into the hearts of our children.  Following the Great Commandments (Matthew 22:37-39) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) given to us by Jesus, this mission will set the foundation for their lifelong walk with Christ. Our children’s Ministry strives to partner with parents to help children experience and understand what it means to know Christ, accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior, and live out a mission-focused life. We as part of FBC Douglas, Celebrate as Worshipers, Communicate the Gospel, Connect to the the Community, and Contribute to the Kingdom.  We teach children about how Bible Study, Worship, Participation, Church Membership, and Tithing are a part of their lives as they find and develop their relationship with Christ.

What Should I Expect?

From the time your child enters FBC Douglas, we want him/her to feel safe and comfortable. We have a parking lot at the rear of the church that is available for parent parking. As families enter the building, we have a greeter and check in stations in the preschool and children’s entrance areas. We will need parent information and children and parent will receive safety tag information. The parents will present their copy of the safety tag in order to pick up children. All of our staff and volunteers have background checks and training through the Ministry Safe System. All of our Preschool and Children’s classes are on secure hallways and leaders and teachers are available to speak with parents about any special needs that your child may have.

The Sunday Evening Worship service begins at 6p on Sunday Evenings. We offer childcare for babies to 3 years old.

Children

On Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am we have Sunday School at First Baptist Douglas. There are classes for all ages! In the Children’s Department, we offered age-graded classes from Birth to 5th grade on our secure Preschool and Children’s hallways. Parents should take children to the check-in station to report to Sunday school. We will be glad to assist you to an adult class as well. Our Preschool/Children Sunday School classes learn from The Gospel Project that teaches us that everything in the Bible points to Jesus. Come CONNECT with us through Sunday School!
