What Is First Friends?
First Friends is a ministry to introduce children with exceptionalities the love of Jesus and allow parents or caregivers to attend Sunday School and Worship Service with the peace of mind knowing their child will be cared for in a safe environment.
Many families are unable or too uncomfortable to come to church because of the special needs of their children. FBC Douglas wants to meet this need for our community. First Friends will pair a well-trained friend with a K-5th grade child with exceptionalities to provide inclusive support. We also have a calming sensory room that will provide a quiet and comfortable environment if a break is needed. This ministry will be provided on Sunday mornings during Sunday School at 9:25 and the 10:35 Worship hour.
